White Dude Standing on the Wall

So for 24 years I managed to never dance in front of people. (Slow dancing where you sway back and forth and step on the girl's feet doesn't count as dancing). I was always the awkward white dude playin the wall like I was too slick to dance, while all I really wanted (and want) to do is go out and bust a move. Yet this past week, I did the Cupid Shuffle in front of other people, not just once but twice! The first time, I was helping out with a thing called Boosterthon Fun Run, which is a fund-raising gig for elementary students. So my first time dancing in front of people was actually in front of miniature people who just thought I was funny. But this experience gave me just enough nerve to then go out with my wife at her cousin's wedding and do the Cupid Shuffle...I have to work hard for my rhythm (which is often to it's own turn table) but as my daughter grows up I want to be able to take her out on the dance floor...and I want both of my kids to have memories of their mommy and daddy spinning around the house. I don't want to live another 24 years and wished I would have gone out and danced. Sound's cliche because of that Leann Womack song...but I'll take it...Down, down, do your dance, do your dance (we got a brand new dance)!
